Elements of Nature

The Elements of Nature are: Thunder represents electricity, Ice represents snow and cold, Force represent combat and spirit, Water represents life and growth and Fire represents energy. These are the basic elements of our universe that govern everything on earth.

They also are a fundamental part of our personal chemistry as human beings. They influence how we react to situations in our lives, our relationships and our work.

From a feng shui perspective, the element of earth is related to wisdom, loyalty and good judgment. This element is represented by the colors brown, yellow and terracotta and symbolizes the season of Fall.

Sivalya’s Five Element collection features gemstones and Sanskrit symbols that enhance each of the elements properties. This helps balance the negative pulls from out of sync elements and cosmic influences. This way we can maintain a more harmonious lifestyle. You can try wearing one of these healing gems and meditating on the ancient symbol to find out which element is out of balance for you.

Elements of Art

There are seven basic elements of art – color, value, line, shape, texture, space, and form. Artists use these elements to create harmonious, impactful works of art.

Line

A line is a path created by a moving point, mark or object. It can be straight, swirly, wavy, jagged, dotted, dashed, broken, thick, thin or diagonal. When lines overlap they create shapes. Shapes can be geometric or organic/natural and can be spheres, cubes, pyramids, cones, and cylinders.

Elements of Design

Design is about bringing an idea or concept to life through a combination of visual elements. These elements include lines, shapes, color, movement and direction. They are all used to create a final product that is unequivocally outstanding.

Lines are the basic building blocks of all visual designs and communicate important information to the viewer through their shape and direction. They can be continuous or broken, curved or sinuous, thick or thin. They are also used to communicate different mood states through a variety of mark-making techniques. For example, gesture drawings often use lines in rapid strokes to convey a sense of action and movement.

Patterns are organized design elements that repeat themselves in a predictable way. The human eye is calibrated to seek out patterns, which can evoke surprising emotional reactions from the viewer.

Elements of Style

In the world of writing, these elements are the essential building blocks — indeed, the DNA — of clear and compelling communication. Embraced by educators and editors, the principles of brevity, clarity, coherence, flow, inclusivity, simplicity, and unity empower writers to clarify their arguments, engage readers, and strengthen their writing.

When William Strunk self-published The Elements of Style in 1918, he aimed to concisely summarize the rules and conventions writers needed to follow in order to write with clarity, impact, and authority. His book remains a classic.

Framing artwork is more than just a matter of protecting and preserving. The frame treatment can have a huge impact on the way your art is perceived. That’s why choosing a custom framer who understands the finer points of framing is so important. For example, your framer should not use screw eyes or saw-toothed hangers. And he or she should use dust covers that are a better quality than brown or black kraft paper.
